Carrie MacGillivray is a Program Vice President on IDC’s mobility team, and is responsible for mobile services, Internet of Things (IoT) and service provider infrastructure research. Carrie’s in-depth analysis examines market developments, quantifies the market opportunity and provides comprehensive analysis for the mobile operator in serving both consumers and businesses as well as leading IDC’s IoT research efforts examining this burgeoning market. She leads the consumer research on the evolving prepaid market, consumer adoption of mobile broadband services and mobile messaging. Her insights also extend to the growing area of enterprise mobility including corporate liability from an operator perspective, managed mobility, fixed mobile convergence, multinational mobility strategies and wireless WAN. Across her mobile services research she examines the implications of wireless displacement, the evolution of 4G services, mobile VoIP, and WiFi as an option for carrier offload. She also directs the research of IDC’s service provider infrastructure team across wireless and wireline and assesses the crucial role it plays in providing the transport for all telecom services – especially the evolution of mobile backhaul and the heterogeneous network. Carrie’s research in the Internet of Things ecosystem spans the impact of installed sensors to the need for analytics to the opportunity for social business within the context of the IoT domain. She works with IDC’s global IoT team to size and forecast the installed base and revenue opportunity within this newly, and quickly, expanding market.Raj Kanaya, CMO, Aeris Communications
Mr. Kanaya is responsible for marketing and business development for Aeris’ products and services. He brings a long track record of general management and marketing experience to Aeris, most recently as founder and CEO of Infineta Systems. As CEO, Mr. Kanaya raised over $30M in venture financing while leading the company in developing the highest performing WAN optimization product in the industry. Previously, Raj was VP of product strategy and alliances for the Application Networking Group at Citrix Systems. He joined Citrix though its acquisition of NetScaler where he served as VP of product management for a product line that went from sub-$2 million to $60+ million in revenues over three years. Earlier in his career, he was a Bain & Co. consultant where he advised large companies in technology and LBO funds on turnarounds, new market entries, and acquisitions/divestitures. Raj has an M.B.A. from Stanford University and earned his B.S. in computer science magna cum laude from UCSD.
