Telefónica & Jasper Wireless Partner for M2M

Jasper Wireless and Telefónica today announced a strategic partnership to wirelessly connect machine-to-machine (M2M) and consumer electronics devices.  The Telefónica Control Center, powered by Jasper Wireless, enables M2M enterprise customers & device manufacturers to profitably connect and manage embedded mobile devices, advancing their design and market introduction.

The Telefónica and Jasper Wireless collaboration will accelerate market entry for a new generation of connected consumer devices, including PNDs, e-Readers, digital photo frames, cameras, and gaming. Additionally, it will bring automation and advanced control features to enterprise applications in sectors such as automotive, smart grid, tracking, security and mobile healthcare.

Jasper Wireless’s comprehensive platform for connecting M2M and consumer electronic devices provides a model that minimizes the complexity of embedding connectivity into devices, reducing time-to-market and total cost of ownership (TCO). By automating operational processes, Jasper Wireless enables customers & device manufacturers to deliver a seamless out-of-the-box user experience.

Telefónica’s M2M service with Jasper Wireless will be commercially available on 1 January.  Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
